Some Notes on using 3delight passes in Fusion 8

AOVs from 3delight Image Layers
AOVPASSES

Output EXR image layers from 3delight
By default 3delight outputs seperate files for each image layer (aov)
. If you prefer to have all the layers in one file – Remove the “<aov>” in the filename/s in the render pass.

In Fusion 8 right click on imported exr and pick script “hos_SplitEXR”.

######################### UV Passes

Useful for swapping over textures in comp stage in Fusion. Use in conjunction with mask outputs.
There isn’t a UV pass by default from 3delight though its possible to create a custom aov pass.
Anyway in the meantime use a shader.

under 3delight menu > assignment panel > create a new shader collection > assign uvpass shader to collection
create a renderpass
renderpass > scene elements > collection to render > select the shader collection

masks for each object can be created under 3delight > create 3delight mask set
Add AOV outputs for each mask

################################## Motion Blur using Motion Vector Pass

Motion Vector doesnt always match the quality of full true 3d motion blur but will do the job most of the time.

In 3delight render pass
Set Motion Blur Position to “start of frame”
Switch on “Sample Motion on Integer Frames” (This will disable the regular motion blur)
Set Enable Camera Blur, Transformation Blur, Deformation Blur on as required
It’s worthwhile to bump up the motion vector pass aov output to 32 bit float exr.
